Diana DePriest

About (Biography)

Born and raised in Orange County, California, Diana DePriest first began writing at the age of 12.  Her early writings were primarily poetic prose. Her first poem was formulated as she was asleep and dreaming. She woke to scribble it on a piece of scrap paper in the dark, and has continued to write poetry ever since.

Diana married the love of her life in 1991 at the age of 21. She committed her life to Christ in 1992, and she and her husband were baptized together October 18, 1992. The couple has three children, two sons and a daughter. Her family has since been her primary "ministry."

Serving in her church for the next 15 years, she actively participated in discipling both women and youth. She has taught extensive bible studies and led and facilitated many bible study groups. She has also spoken publicly about pro-life matters since 1998.
In 2008 Diana, at the encouragement of a friend, began blogging about her faith and her family.  Since that time she has added to her repertoire a site for her more recent poetic works and web site about the struggles of weight loss.

After several "false starts," Diana was again encouraged by a friend to take her writing to the next level.  In 2011 Diana participated in NaNoWriMo 2011.

Diana's participation in her first National Novel Writing Month has resulted in her first self-published novel, "Homecoming." It is intended to be the first in a series of novels in "The Redempton Series."
